The struggle is real.

We've all seen it. Heck, we've all felt it. The dread of Monday morning, the pain of knowing Tuesday is just around the corner and that Friday is light years away... Each day has a new struggle, a specific feeling, that is consistent from week to week. I did my best to accurately depict the general emotion of each day of the week:

1. Sunday

Ahh yes. Sunday. In all honesty, Sunday is an awesome day. It's still the weekend, so you still have some freedom that you don't usually have during the week. But goodness gracious, the beautiful day is always tainted by the undeniable fact that Monday is lurking around the corner waiting to ensnare humanity.

2. Monday

If you've never ever fallen out of bed on a Monday morning when your alarm went off, you're lying. It's just something that Mondays do to you. And hey, falling on your face is totally fine! The only thing that matters is that you get back up in time for work or your 8:00 a.m. class.

3. Tuesday

I don't know about you, but I feel this way every Tuesday. On Tuesday there is a sense of accomplishment and pride that you survived yet another Monday... Unfortunately that feeling is usually overshadowed by the surprise (that we feel every week to be honest) that it is still only Tuesday. Monday seems like forever ago.

4. Wednesday

Yep. The camel that's standing in the way of Friday is HUMP DAY! You've made it half-way through half the week, and that's pretty good. Wednesdays can still be difficult though. Sometimes you just feel the overwhelming sense that you're stuck in the middle of a very long week... which sometimes you are.

5. Thursday

You're almost there! You can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and you're so close! One. More. Day. You can do it!

6. Friday

Congratulations! You made it! Just a few more hours, and you will be completely free to move into the weekend. The joy is overwhelming. Why isn't there a Friday parade every week? But seriously, Friday is pretty awesome.

7. Saturday

You woke up at 2:00 p.m.? No worries! Saturdays are for sleeping and doing whatever. If freedom was a day, it would be Saturday. It's a wonderful day for procrastination, pampering, productivity or whatever floats your goat. Saturday is your day. Here's to the freaking weekend, amirite???

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
