It is sad to admit that warm days will soon be a fond memory as winter is right around the corner. As the days get colder, it is very tempting to just say "screw it" and show up to class in a Snuggie. I know I have contemplated it many, many times.

I absolutely hate putting effort into my clothes for class, and I know so many girls feel the same.

For five days, I decided to challenge myself to change a few of my fashion habits. I would attempt to get ready in a swift 15 minutes, but instead of throwing on one of my long sleeve T-shirts like I usually do, I would wear something that makes me look like I have somewhat of a fashion sense.

Remember ladies, first impressions are key.

Day One

I was tempted to throw on a sweatshirt today since it was dismal outside but decided to put on a flannel instead. To clean it up, I added a vest over the top of it. I wore leggings, but only suggest doing so if your shirt is long enough. Riding boots are not only comfy and classy but also are a great way to turn a boring outfit cute.

Day Two

The rain still hadn't gone away so I was keeping comfort in mind with today's outfit. The shirt I am wearing is one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I own, it is very similar to a Piko, and is an easy way to look like you have a sense of style and remain super comfortable. You can add some flair to a simple top like this by layering necklaces like I did. If you want to be comfortable wearing jeans, make sure you have multiple pairs that fit well. This does not mean you have to force yourself into them. Instead, feel comfortable, confident, and have plenty of breathing room. I was planning on wearing suede booties with this outfit, but due to the rain, I decided to wear riding boots again.

Day Three

Today I went for a more sporty look when I picked out my clothes. I love this baseball tee that I picked out because it is loose and comfortable, but still looks cute. My hair was also a complete mess, so throwing on a baseball cap over my braid completed the casual look. Although you can't see, I wore a pair of blue Converse and cuffed my jeans.

Day Four

Today's weather was miserable and I really did not want to put that much effort into my appearance. I wore a T-shirt and Nike shorts but cleaned up my look by adding my own style to it. Using an oversized flannel shirt as a jacket, is perfect for days when the weather can't figure itself out. Wearing combat boots with socks also makes the outfit feel more fall-like while also adding character.

Through the period I spent cleaning up my look for class, I felt more confident, alert, and energetic throughout my day. I don't think I am going to completely abandon T-shirts as an option for class, but I do know now that it is easier than I thought it would be to look presentable. I encourage anyone out there going through a slump, try these simple and quick steps to help transform your bland outfit into a stylish one!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
