"Frozen" is a phenomenon that has taken the world by storm. People young and old are mesmerized by this Disney film, making it one of Disney's highest grossing animated pictures. Songs like "Do You Want To Build A Snowman" was just one aspect of the substantial payout from the movie. Products and clothes were added to the list of things being bought just because it was associated with "Frozen."
Now parents and children everywhere have had their dreams come true at Epcot where Anna and Elsa have come to life in a new ride called "Frozen Ever After." This ride is set to significantly raise the amount of money generated from Epcot visitors. Epcot's numbers haven't been as large as Disney World or Universal after the addition of Harry Potter World. It is said though that this new "Frozen"-themed attraction will have people flocking to Epcot, where the park is more known for its bars than its rides.
The ride opened July 21 in the Norway pavilion of the park. Normally a new ride is packed with people anticipating the rides new arrival, but packed was an understatement. Lines wrapped around the park and the wait time for the ride was said to be 300 minutes. That's a five-hour wait to stand in line.
Is the ride worth the five-hour wait time? The ride is a simple, but magnificent attraction. You arrive to the front of the line and hop into a boat to start the ride. You are taken on an adventure, and the final destination plays out just like "Frozen." You are essentially riding the boat until you get to a celebration being thrown at Elsa's castle and throughout the ride all of your favorite frozen songs are being played. When you finally reach the castle, animations explode as
"Let It Go" is sung. All these colors fill the screen before you are sent back to unload the boat.
In addition to the ride, there is a spot to meet Elsa and Anna on the pavilion for any child (or let's face it adult) that wants to get their picture taken with the "Frozen" stars. There is also a store to get any of the "Frozen" trinkets you want, even Elsa and Anna dresses for the little ones.
Is the wait time daunting for now? Yes, the extremely long wait time is inconvenient, especially with small children in tow. Is it something you need to go to? Yes, it is. The "Frozen" ride is a great addition to Epcot and now adds that little something that Epcot has been missing. This isn't a whole "Frozen" lan, so maybe the adults should ride Frozen Ever After and bring the kids when lines calm down.
As Olaf says, "Some people are worth melting for," and you might melt away breaking a sweat waiting on this line in the Florida heat, but it might be worth it.
