Moving to new places can be scary and intense, but also exciting and wonderful. The feeling of starting over is a euphoria not commonly appreciated. Most people focus on what they have left behind not what they have yet to experience. If we chain ourselves to the past, we will never learn to enjoy the future. A clean slate is a gift, to become a new person, to be who you want to be. You are no longer burdened by your past, instead you are lifted by your future. As long as you always have hope nothing can ever stop you from being what you want to be. Moving can help one accomplish that.

By starting over, you become independent from whatever problems of your last place and can start off with nothing in your past. That’s not to say it’s good to run away from your problems but taking a step back can help one gain perspective. If you are to close to a situation it can be overwhelming, but once you breath in and focus a big problem can seem smaller. If nothing else stepping back can help you grow and make a decision. I always find that before I make a big decision it’s good to think it through, sometimes its instinctual and I know that there is not choice other than one, but other times when I find myself doubting I find that taking a break helps me clear my head. I have moved a lot as a kid and each move brings new adventures, I learned that even if I left problems behind they would always come back to haunt me. The most important lesson you can take from this article is that it’s never good to leave something unfinished no matter how small.

Closure is a small sometimes insignificant thing but it is the secret to every move. To find a way to forgive and understand why the discrepancies occurred may help you to solve the very same problem in the near future. We like to think that we are all unique and original and we are but when it comes to fights humans have been fighting the same ones since the beginning of time. We all have the same kinds of emotions and while situations and personalities differ I can assure you that someone at some time has been upset about that very same thing. So if you ever feel upset about something that you feel no one else can sympathize with remember that someone has already felt that pain. It can be hard to think about others when dealing with your own demons but I think that much like moving it can help you gain perspective. That someone has it worse and you could have it much worse, but you are still alive and loved in some way shape or form. Moving is terrifying but you are ready. Look towards that bright future and conquer your goals.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
