You need coffee now. Yes you do. Now, let me tell you why. Lately, I've gone through an obsession with coffee. Okay, maybe not lately (as in, definitely not lately), but as of the last year or so, Starbucks has been my right hand man (woman?) with Biggby a close second.
You name a drink, any drink, and I probably have tried it.
Oprah's Chai.
Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Iced Passion Tango Tea.
Birthday Cake Frappe.
Ellen drinks coffee, isn't that good enough reason to drink it? If not, keep reading.
Slowly but surely I have transitioned (am transitioning) into drinking non-specialty drinks like Bruegger's coffee, but the sugary sweet goodness of a grande teddy bear from Biggby will forever be one of my go-to drinks. I've taken a cue from the one and only Lorelai Gilmore and realized I definitely need more coffee in my life. It tastes good and is better than a Mountain Dew, especially in the mornings right before work or class. Is it obsessive to wake up with extra time to get coffee in the mornings? Maybe so, but I know I am not the only one.
You may be asking now that you have heard my coffee love story, "Why should I drink more coffee?"
Well actually first take this quiz then read about why you got the answer you did:
Let me guess, the quiz told you that you need more coffee in your life? Yes? Keep reading.
So now that we have determined that no matter what, you should definitely get some coffee, let's take a look at some great reasons to explain why you are on your fourth ( or fifth, I won't judge) cup of joe.
1. Coffee increases energy levels (duh) and also may make you smarter.
How does it do this you may ask? By blocking some neurotransmitters that slow down the body for sleep.
2. Caffeine burns fat cells, and has been known to prevent dementia all while boosting the metabolic rate your body goes through food.
3. Did you know coffee contains Potassium (6% RDV) , Riboflavin (11% RDV), Magnesium and Niacin (2% RDV)?
While it may only have a small portion of the recommended daily value, it really can add up when you're drinking four or five cups a day
4. Had a little too much to drink last night? Grab a coffee.
No, seriously. Coffee has been shown to help out the liver's processes and protects it from cirrhosis (which means your liver is basically scar tissue! EW!)
5. And lastly, who doesn't love coffee dates with friends?
Besides, you never know who you'll meet at the coffee shop...
