Five Little Happy Things

It's the little things in life

My face is naturally kind of sad looking. It's not that I am actually sad all of the time, but my neutral face just makes me look melancholy. More often than not, my face is just neutral because that's how I feel, but sometimes a smile crosses my face. It doesn't take anything extraordinary to make me smile, just rather little pleasant things in life that bring me blissful joy.

1. Puppies!

I turn into melted ice cream whenever I see a dog. Big or small, doesn't matter to me. Puppies in particular make me go squee! upon first sight. No matter how glum I'm feeling, a friendly dog that gives me attention can brighten my day.

2. Watching a new episode of my favorite TV shows

Watching television is one of my favorite things to do, so especially if it's a new episode, I will drop most anything I am doing to watch it. TV is a great escape for me and is something I may want to pursue in the future as a career.

3. Hot showers

After a stressful day, a nice hot shower can be the thing you need to transition from a busy day into a relaxing night. Personally, the "perfect hot shower" is not complete without some good smelling soap and a loofah sponge.

4. Upbeat songs

When you're listening to your iPod on shuffle and your favorite upbeat song comes on, it's fantastic. There is something much more satisfying about a favorite song coming up randomly than there is when you put it on yourself.

5. An unexpected text from an old friend

Sometimes people lose contact with each other, and that's totally fine. But when you haven't seen somebody in a while and they text you out of the blue, it's pretty lovely to know you're being thought about. Hopefully you and that friend get to hang out sometime soon.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
