There are many emotions you can go through when you volunteer, often times they can contradict one another and make it confusing to get a clear idea of what you really feel when you volunteer. That's alright though because here I am to explain why you might feel these emotions and why you should continue to do great things like volunteering.
1. Happiness
Be thankful for where you are together and that you could volunteer by giving up your time to help others who aren't as fortunate as you. You're out there to represent people who care about others and want to help make the world a better place.
2. Excitement
Found a new volunteering event to go to? Can't wait to meet new people? Yeah, me too! There's always something new to do and people to help! Make a difference and get people excited to volunteer just like you!
3. Thankfulness
Be thankful for where you are together and that you could volunteer by giving up your time to help others who aren't as fortunate as you. You're out there to represent people who care about others and want to hep make the world a better place.
4. Sympathy
Feeling sympathy for how people got into such unfair situations can be something that can bog down your mood when you volunteer. Instead use this emotion to power you to continue to do such great work i your community by making people smile.
5. Anger
Sometimes you feel angry about how you can't immediately change people's situations for the better. For me, it makes me so mad that I can't help people right away because I don't have the resources to do so, but instead of stopping, I continue to work to make an even bigger change.
6. Frustration
Not being able to do everything all at once can be a little frustrating. You may want to help the world and make the changes you want to see immediately but it's best to take everything one step at a time. A good way to start is by getting together with your community and discussing service projects.
