10 Fashion Essentials You Must Have In Your Wardrobe This Winter

I hate the winter, I really do, but I have to say I love dressing for the winter. This season allows us to layer as many items as we want, from scarves and sweaters to tights under your jeans.

Although layering can be fun sometimes being so concentrated on keeping warm it can be hard to accomplish a look that will keep you warm and still have you look stylish. Therefore I have put together a small list of the 10 essential things that you should have in your closet during this season that will not only keep you warm but also keep you in style.

1. Nice Statement Coat

Look I know having a good winter, bubble coat, is the key for those cold days (my mom tells me at least 10 times a day). But personally, I've always hated how those coats look on me. This is why I like to always keep a good heavy but also stylish coat, what we would call statement coat, in my closet.

During the winter season outwear is the most important part of your outfit, well because it's what people will be seeing when you are outside. Because of this you always want to have a nice coat that will make you look amazing but also keep you warm. It can be something classy, like a wool pea coat or something fun and colorful, like one of the newest trend of colorful faux fur jackets.

2. Knitted Sweater

Having a big knitted sweater in the winter is always my go to! Sweater are the biggest part when it comes to layering. Depending on the type of sweater and how chunky one might be you can always layer them over shirts or under coats that match. Sweaters are the most essential part when it comes to layering in the winter time.

3. Over-The-Knee Boots

One of the biggest trend right now is wearing boots that go just over your knee. It's been going on since the fall and it for sure has made it's way into the winter season. These are great shoes to have in your wardrobe during the winter not only because they are very in right now but because they'll keep you warm and they go with nearly any outfit.

4. Blanket Scarves

I absolutely love the blanket scarves trend! These are honestly the coziest thing to have when its cold outside and it's great for layering. Find a color or pattern that you like and you are set!

5. Hats

Keeping your head warm is the number one thing to do when cold, so hats are obviously a must! Any type of hat is good for the winter from the knitted ones to fedoras. Personally, I love wearing both but I think fedoras really add a lot of style to an outfit.

6. Skinny Jeans

Since layering is so important during this season because of their slim fitting, skinny jeans allow you to layer as much as you want on top without it looking too overload. Plus, you really can never go wrong with a pair of skinny jeans.

7. Snow Boots

Ok so I was always the person to just wear my rain boots when it snowed, I've now realized that I should actually get a pair of actual snow boots so my feet are kept warm. Snow boots may be hard to match with some outfit buts if you find a good pair that look cute as well, then be sure to get them!

8. Tights

Tights are your best friends on those really cold days, just put them under your pants and you'll feel 10 times warmer. Tights are also good for those days you really want to wear a dress or a skirt, so it's always great to have them close by!

9. Leather Jacket

My leather jacket was my to go item this fall but I think it can also be useful during the winter. It can work well if you layer above a t-shirt and under your winter coat. Honestly, leather jackets are my favorite clothing item, you just can never go wrong with one.

10. Turtlenecks

Turtlenecks are so in style right now, therefore I think having a good turtleneck in your wardrobe is a must. It's something that you can simple wear on its own or you can use underneath a sweater or another item you wish to layer it with.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
