As we near the middle of the semester, most students at OK State have attended at least one Cowboys football game. Odds are that a good majority of them made the four-and-a-half-hour drive down south to see the Pokes take on Florida State in the 2014 season opener.
There's no denying that Cowboy football is a great part of the Oklahoma State experience, but those games are only once a week. There are more sports happening in the fall than just football. Over the next month there are multiple home games, matches, and tournaments Oklahoma State athletes will be participating in.
Softball
Bet you didn't realize that the Cowgirls softball team had a fall schedule. OK State is hoping for a strong finish to its six-game slate of autumn games -- the better to follow up on a 26-28 regular season campaign, earlier this spring, in which they lost 13 one-run games to ranked opponents.
Upcoming Home Games: Arkansas, Oct. 5t at 1 p.m.; Rodgers State, Oct. 15 at 5 p.m.
Women's Soccer
After enduring a six-game losing streak earlier this season, OK State's women's soccer team has righted the ship just in time for the meat of its home schedule. Per usual, the matchup with the arch rival Sooners will be a closely fought one, with the Cowboys looking to avenge a 2-0 defeat in Norman on Aug. 22.
Upcoming Home Games: TCU, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.; Baylor, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.; Oklahoma, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
Women's Tennis
Having traveled all around the country to begin their 2014-2015 season -- trekking to the likes of Little Rock, Ark.; Durham, N.Car.; Amelia Island, Fla.; and Pacific Palisades, Calif. -- the Cowgirls tennis team finally enjoys some home cooking for a five-day stretch, later this month at the Greenwood Tennis Center, which just opened earlier this spring.
Upcoming Home Games: ITA Central Region Championship, Oct. 16 to Oct. 20.
There are tons of athletes on this campus and they all deserve our support, not just football. Be a true Oklahoma State Cowboys fan and cheer on all the sports at OSU this fall!
