Fall In (Love With) Connecticut
Haley Messenger

New England blesses the rest of the United States with its scenery during the Fall. More specifically, the state of Connecticut, has held my heart during this time of year ever since I was born. Every Fall warms my heart not only with Pumpkin Spice Lattes, but with the atmosphere in Connecticut. It is able to satisfy every one of the human senses.

There is so much to see in the beautiful terrains of the state. Any hike, walk or bike ride can bless your body with a multitude of colors. The crisp air feels different than it does outside of the state. The way the trees tower over the streets and sidewalks beats the skyscrapers that do the same in the city. The mountainous horizons blend in with the colorful sunsets that accompany them.

You can hear the rides at festivals as well as the occasional "NEXT!" when you are in line to get some apple cider donuts or a loaded baked potato. However, you can at most times hear nothing, which is very calming and pleasing to someone that only knows the sounds of sirens and trains. There is also a bigger variety of delicious foods to smell and taste during this time of year too. All pumpkin everything.

Connecticut offers some of the best fall themed activities and excursions to bring all of your senses together. For example, you can head to The Haunted Graveyard at Lake Compounce Theme Park in Bristol, the Trail of Terror in Wallingford, or on a lighter note, Lyman Orchards' Corn Maze & Pumpkin Picking in Middlefield. There is even Haunted Mini Golf in Farmington. This state seems to be the most celebratory of the season than any other one. I love Connecticut because it brings out the best of Fall. Outside of it, it just does not feel right. It brings a sense of joy and home. What more could you ask for?

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:
