Why Fall Is A Great Time For Makeup Lovers

The cooler weather is our friend.

If you are makeup lover like me, you will probably agree that fall is the best time to wear it. Not only is it the best because the weather is cool and your foundation is no longer streaming down your face, but also because you have so many more options. Here are some of the reasons why wearing makeup in the fall is the best.

1. Dark Lips

Dark lips are really only acceptable in the fall and winter times. If you were to wear a darker shade out in June, you may get a few looks unless you were in Sephora. While you could totally rock it if you wanted to, it just looks and feels better when it's a bit colder outside. Also, if I am being honest, the dark lips match my soul a bit better.

2. Full Coverage To The Max

Gone are the days of your foundation running down your face. Finally, we can apply a thick layer of makeup to block ourselves from our haters and get through the day still looking glam. The best part is you might not even need setting spray, though if you are a makeup lover, you will probably use it anyway.

3. Heavy Eyeliner

Again, going off of the colder weather point, fall is the time to worry less about looking like a melting panda and more like an Egyptian goddess. Lay on those black lines and go to class without worrying about your liner getting all over your face during your late-night turbo.

4. Dark Metallic Eyes

Maybe it is because we cannot control our excitement for Christmas and we feel we need to make ourselves shine like a Christmas tree, but once the temperature hits lower than 60 degrees, it is time to break out the metallic eye shadow. This type of makeup is something that cannot be done during the summertime because with the bright sun, you may make people go blind. Use caution when applying these eye shadows with snow outside and bright sunlight as well. There will only be more blind people otherwise.

5. Matte Everything

We no longer need to look like we just got back from the beach with glistening skin because all beaches are closed now. While it may be nice to look a little dewy from time to time, the fall and winter times are opportunities to tone everything down. Skin and lips can finally be given a porcelain finish that looks great in pictures even with a flash. Considering how fall and winter bring about many holidays, there will be lots of pictures to be taken and as such, we want to make sure that we look as good as possible in all of them.

6. Less Bronzer

We no longer need to fake a tan and make ourselves look like hard-core beach-goers anymore. Finally, we can allow our faces to match our bodies a bit better as we sit back and watch ourselves lose all the color in our skin as the harsh temperatures start to freeze us to death. Then, we can pick up the bronzer again and pretend that we never used any less of it to begin with and move on with our lives.

7. More Blush

Time to bring some life back into your face. Wind and colder temperatures rip all of the color and life out of your face, and blush will act as your defibrillator. It is important to keep it around come the cooler months so that your professors won't call 911 to try and revive you if you fall asleep during your 8 a.m. and your skin is flushed.

8. Halloween Makeup

Who doesn't love some good Halloween makeup tutorials on YouTube? It is one of the best times of the year for makeup lovers. Between the millions of cat tutorials we have all tried to the scary, bloody zombies that we watch with one eye open and then don't attempt on our own, there are countless options. October it the perfect time to try and have a little fun with our faces.

9. Holiday Value Sets

I think that everyone's favorite part of fall is the release of all the holiday value sets from stores like Sephora and Ulta. What is better than getting a lot of makeup for a cheaper price? These sets come out extremely early because they go fast, which is because they are so amazing. I encourage you to go out and buy them now before they are gone for good.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
