While I'm away at school, I miss my cat more than anything (maybe even more than my family). Lately I've been surrounded by kittens and it makes me miss her even more, but it also makes me want another pet. So, I've come up with some reasons why everyone needs a pet.
They are a Constant Source of Love and Affection
Sometimes we all need someone or something to show us some love and affection. Pets (for the most part) love their owners unconditionally. They know that you are the one that feeds them and gives them tummy rubs and plays with them; therefore, they will show their gratitude by snuggling up to you and trying to love you without reservation.
They Make the Best Cuddle Buddies
Is there anything better that cuddling up to a big ball of soft fur and relaxing? No, my friends, there is not. For the most part, they just don't care if you lie down next to them and put your face directly into their thick fur. Cats and dogs and most other pets have this tendency to just let things happen, because they just don't give a crap. But, if you're like me, you'll just take this as a sign that they love you and want you to stay in close proximity all of the time.
They are a Great Source of Entertainment
Animals are always doing something to entertain us. Whether it's being beyond excited by a pile of leaves or just running around the house, they are there to entertain.
They're Something to Take Care of/Teach Responsibility
Having a pet isn't all fun and games. They are living creatures that need to be taken care of. You need to feed them, clean them, walk them (depending on the pet), and show them constant affection. It's a lot of work, but you get back as much as you put in.
They're Freakin' Hilarious
Animals are weird. Like, really weird. They do stupid things all of the time and you just can't help but laugh hysterically and make fun of them. It's all in good fun. Sometimes they can just be so dumb because they are so innocent and naive. How are they to know that leaning over in a bag on the edge of the table probably isn't the best idea?
