Whether you are a freshman in high school, college graduate, a married woman with 3 kids, or just a tired, weary, spiritless human being who has lost all motivation, I know life can be hard, it can be disappointing, and it can be daunting. But it is also full of wholesome and happy revelations that bring the inspiration to stay positive and keep going. Here are some reminders for you - and myself - as we go through this obscure life of ours:
You are beautiful whether he says so or not.
You don't need some jerk who is just there for one thing to tell you that you are beautiful, in order for it to be true. Remember this truth from Song of Solomon 2:13: "He calls me beautiful one."
Somebody always loves you.
His name is God, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
You are not defined by your weight, test scores, family, bank account, or friends.
God has made you just the way you are for His own very special reason.
Everything is going to work out in your best interest (Romans 8:28).
You may not know it YET, but one day you will. Whether you realize it tomorrow or next year, you'll look back and see how God is working all along.
Make a happy schedule.
Make a schedule that consists of things that make you happy on a weekly or daily basis.
You deserve a man who loves you like Thomas Rhett loves his wife.... but loves God more.
Yes, girl, you need a man who just absolutely adores you, but you need a man who adores God more.
Eat the dadgum donut and drink the dadgum milkshake.
One little treat isn't gonna make you gain 5 pounds (even though it feels like it).
Do that thing that seems scary and out of your comfort zone.
I promise you in the long run, you won't regret it.
It's normal to be stressed.
Life is scary and, if you're like me, not being in control stresses you out, I know. But let it go (that's easier said than done), and remember that it is normal to be stressed.
You are NOT the amount of Instagram likes you have.
Enough said.
Pray for your future husband (http://thenoshlifeblog.com/?s=single+girls+prayer).
I LOVED doing this 30 day prayer challenge and you should do it too!
Just because you're single and all your other friends have boyfriends doesn't mean you need one.
The perfect guy is out there somewhere. Wait for him.
Temptation is sooooo much stronger than you think.
Don't put yourself in a situation where you may be tempted beyond what you can bear (this goes for intimacy, alcohol, drugs, peer pressure, etc.). This is soooo easy to do as a teenager.... but don't let temptation rise above you. You are so much stronger than that.
God knows your struggles - even if it seems like He doesn't.
He hears your cries, I promise. Tears are prayers too (Psalm 56:8).
He already knows the resolution of every plan.
If you are a planner and always wanna be in control of every situation - guess what, girl - God's plan is greater and He already knows the outcome whether you like it or not. Leave room for Him. His plan is always better than yours (Proverbs 19:21).
And his timing is always better than yours.
That's all you need to know.
Wait for "the one whom your soul [literally] loves" (Song of Solomon 3:4).
There's something specific that your soul craves. When he is the one, you'll just know, because your soul will literally be dancing.
Please don't ever forget the great masterpiece that you are, darling. You are worthy, you are honored, and you are so loved. And Proverbs 3:15 says "You are more precious than rubies [and the finest gold]". It's the little moments in life that make it all worthwhile. Dance through this life like you're dancing to your favorite song. God has you in the palms of His amazing hand, and He has great plans for you.
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
- Jeremiah 29:11
