Stress: it has never abandoned us throughout our careers as students. It is life’s guarantee. Stress can be the one to blame for our restless minds, lack of sleep, health issues, and the main trigger for some of us to lose it once in a while. We may find ourselves acting as we wouldn't when we are under deep stress, such as giving people the "I don't care" glare in order to protect our last drop of inner peace. Stress can get ugly, and under the right amount of pressure, we can temporarily transform into someone that we are not.
Stress also comes as a package deal with anxiety, upping the enjoyment of the process. As a college student, I can say without a doubt that stress is the most abundant thing in my life. I have realized that I will continue to share my life with it and must accept all its degrees due to a lack of options. So I've figured out a solution to ease my stress, that instantly worked for me the first time I applied it.
The answer to coping with stress for me is actually a single question: "is it worth the stress?” This filters the good and bad causes of our stress, leaving two simple sides. When knowing that what may be causing your stress is actually worth the struggle you encounter, this feels energizing and motivating. On the other hand, when understanding that what we're doing is not worth the stress we undergo for it, we then can see that we possibly might have to eliminate it. This category can include unnecessary loads of work, toxic people, or pointless drama. It clears up the path, making it easier to focus on what is important. We will face stress every single day of our lives, and although sometimes it can drive us insane, stress is beneficial for many things. It can be good for motivation and productivity. As students, stress can be a big reason for us to accomplish our tasks.
The right amount can actually be our friend, helping us to avoid procrastination. Easing our stress is crucial for sanity and health. We must decide what in our lives that is toxic and holding us back by causing unnecessary stress, and what is worth stressing for. Stress isn't the enemy, but balance is the key.
