Last week I wrote about what to thank your roommates for, but this week don't forget to thank your best friend from your hometown. They stuck by your side when you went to different colleges. Even when I made new friends, you still stuck by my side and I can't thank you enough.
1. Thank you for listening to me bitch about new friends, new boys and new classes
You're only a FaceTime or text away when I need to update you about my latest roommate fight. You never complain when I'm upset about the same boy week after week, yet I still talk to him.
2. Thank you for helping me through my quarter-life crisis
A lot happens when you go to college. First I was undecided, then I picked a major, then I freaked out because I wanted to travel the world. You were there to support me through all my decisions, even if they were unrealistic.
3. Thank you for letting me come visit you at college
You let me escape from my dorm and spend the weekend with you and your new friends. We were reunited and it felt so good.
4. Thank you for helping me study over the phone
I needed help with my statistics because I forgot everything we learned in high school, but you reminded me of the formulas. Plus I just wanted to procrastinate and call you.
5. Thank you for catching up on an entire season of "Grey's Anatomy" with me over winter break
It was finally winter break and we got to catch up after being away since August. We watched an entire season of "Grey's" and ate an entire pizza with no regrets. Having someone to take your mind off things after a long, hard semester is a blessing.
6. Thank you for helping me pick out an outfit over FaceTime
Sometimes my roommates' opinions weren't enough. You know me best and you know what I look best in, so thank you for picking up the phone on a Friday night and telling me what to wear.
7. Thank you for not replacing me
We spent months apart making new friends and making new memories. Sometimes we spent days without talking or I forgot to wish you good luck on your exam. You never forgot about me, so thank you because I don't know what I would do without you.
P.S. Summer is wrapping up so we better order a large pizza and binge watch some HGTV.
P.P.S. If you didn't notice, I used pictures from all the shows we watch together.
