1) Country - Garth Brooks
If you are not familiar with Garth Brooks, he is worth listening to. He’s called the “King of Country” alongside with George Strait. His music basically has changed country from really slow and potentially boring to fast paced and more interesting. His song “The Dance” has practically framed my life and maybe it could frame yours.
2) Rock - The Who
This band in my opinion is the best rock band of all time. The Who! Yes, I said it, I put them ahead of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. They have such a unique sound, with Roger Daultry and Pete Townshend as the two front men. It’s a shame that John Entwistle and and Keith Moon passed away. So the band is no longer the original group, but they are still fantastic.
3) Rap - Mike Stud
This rapper is very much underrated in the rap game. Mike Stud. His lyrics are actually phenomenal. He was a division one baseball player at Duke University. Please listen to “In This Life” it is fire.
4) R&B - Marvin Gaye
This man is practically the founder of R&B and recently has gotten more popular since Charlie Puth released a hit named "Marvin Gaye and Get It On." This song is based off Marvin’s song named “Let’s Get It On." It’s one of the most popular love songs of all time. Please listen to Marvin so you can get a clear understanding of how R&B formed.
5) Folk - Bob Dylan
This man is most known for his folk music. Bob Dylan. He has amazing poetry in all of his songs. He also is one of the best songwriters of all time. He has written many number one singles over the last 50 years. Definitely worth listening to.
