As a television audience member of The Bachelor/Bachelorette since '09, I'd say I've seen enough tears, cat fights, and awkward breakups to last me a lifetime. I've also heard more debates over if certain contestants are there for the "right reasons" than anyone ever should. But, despite it all, I admit I am 100% a Bachelor/Bachelorette fanatic. I have nothing but good wishes to those contestants who somehow found love through all the craziness and are living happily ever after; for the rest of you, thanks for the constant drama and good laughs.
11. Juan Pablo Galavis
Coming in at number 11, we have Juan Pablo. We knew this season was doomed because of the language barrier, but who knew he would end up being such a jerk? I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt when Andi called him out on national television for being fake (maybe Andi's just crazy? But, Claire definitely was a little crazy). "It's okay," Juan. Better luck next time.
10. Ben Flajnik
Ben gets the number 10 spot because frankly, he was a little boring for my taste and because he picked Courtney Robertson who absolutely no one liked. Also, he was in dire need of a haircut the whole season.
9. Desiree Hartsock
Des is a really sweet girl but lands in the number 9 spot because her season was almost painful to watch. She was clearly in love with Brooks and then somehow realized she was in love with Chris after Brooks dumped her? Something just didn't add up. But I guess Brooks did her a favor since she's getting married to Chris in a week or so.
8. Jake Pavelka
Jake's good looks and career as a pilot saved him from being further down on the list. I mean, after all, he picked Vienna. Worse than that, he picked Vienna over Tenley Molzahn, who is debatably the sweetest girl on the planet. After realizing his desire for fame, it became apparent that his stunt on Jillian Harris' season (in which he returned after being dumped to warn her about a fellow contestant) was simply a successful ploy to become the next bachelor.
7. Andi Dorfman
Andi lands the number 7 spot because she was a little too hostile for my liking. However, you can't argue that she and Josh Murray look perfect together, and she appeared to have made the right choice. I guess it was too good to be true because sadly, yet predictably, we learned earlier this week that the couple would be going their separate ways. Sigh.
6. Jillian Harris
Jillian's season was the very first one I watched all the way through and I was rather disappointed when she picked "bad boy" Ed over Kiptyn. I also really didn't like the way she said Ed's name (those dang Canadian accents, eh?). Good thing her genuine personality made up for her questionable decisions.
5. Ali Fedotowsky
Ali appeared to make a good decision by choosing Roberto — a decision I personally didn't see coming. While her season wasn't the most memorable, she was really likable and handled her role as the bachelorette with grace ... well, as much grace as one can have while serial dating on reality television. Nowadays, she can be seen on E! so at least she got something out of it.
4. Ashley Hebert
Ashley and I have something in common since she admitted she wasn't initially extremely attracted to winner J.P. Rosenbaum. However, Ashley is one of the few who appeared to make a positive, life-altering decision amidst all of the chaos since the happily married couple just had their first child this past September.
3. Brad Womack
Brad is the only contestant in BachelorÂ
history to get two go rounds at the job. I, unfortunately, missed his first season in which he didn't choose either girl in the end — the ultimate bachelor mistake (oh, the horror). However, he appeared to make up for it in his second season by choosing America's sweetheart Emily Maynard. He even paid special attention to her throughout the season like when he pulled her aside and set up a blanket to talk to her before a rose ceremony even though she already had a rose. Aww.
2. Emily Maynard
Bachelor Nation was a little disappointed when Maynard accepted Brad Womack's proposal since that meant the perfect little blonde could never be the Bachelorette, right? Wrong. This southern belle, with a tragic past, was hands down the best bachelorette so far, in my opinion. Perhaps the best part of her season was when the normally polite Maynard lost her cool and yelled at contestant Kalon McMahon to "get the f*** out" after he referred to her daughter as "baggage".Â
1. Sean Lowe
He's just so perfect. Look at that smile. And he and his wife, Catherine Giudici, are adorable. He just wins at life.
So while this season of The Bachelor starring "Prince Farming," Chris Soules, kicks off, we'll see where he fits in on the list. For now, prepare yourself for buckets of tears, multiple broken hearts, and tons of drama. As Chris Harrison stated, "It appears we will be witnessing the most 'dramatic and romantic season ever." Yeah, we will just see about that.
