Dear friend,
Today was a good day, and here's why: I had the honor of witnessing the musical "Dear Evan Hansen" with the full original cast. "Dear Evan Hansen" is absolutely brilliant from start to finish; each song is written and performed as close to perfection as they could possibly be. The staging, chemistry between the cast members, and instrumentals are absolutely stunning, and each member of their staff was incredibly kind and gracious. Though these are all reason enough to purchase a ticket, the most prominent reason to attend lies in the audience. Each and every person in the theater find themselves relating to the show, and the effects of "Dear Evan Hansen" are bound to remain with them long after the curtain closes. Looking around during some of the songs, I noticed parents holding their children close to them, friends holding each other's hands, and couples wiping the tears from one another's eyes. THAT is the essence of theater, THAT is what makes Broadway so significant. It prompts thought, emotion and, most notably, change. "Dear Evan Hansen" encourages us to love and care for one another and to remember that we are not ever alone. That there is always someone waiting to help pick you back up if you let them. That you should hold your loved ones close and appreciate them. That you should make sure that they never have to feel alone. There is so much to this musical, and there is so much talent flooding from it. If at all possible, go see it and encourage your loved ones to follow suit. It is well worth it.
Sincerely,
Me
