The great city of Dallas with a population of 1,214,162 and annually visited by 22.6 million tourists. Not to mention it’s the 9th largest city in the United States. Impressive huh? While there are many things to check out in D-town, here, I've rounded up some of the city's must-see spots that you probably haven't heard of... yet.

1. Thanksgiving Chapel

My best friend showed me this magnificent spot. It’s a small white spiral tower located in Thanksgiving Square. Its exterior is almost as magnificent as its interior. It has an astounding glass ceiling designed by French artist Gabriel Loire. This place is without a doubt one of a kind. Nat's Tip: When taking a picture of the glass window, try laying on the floor for the best angle.

Hours: Wed. - Sun., 11AM-3PM

Cost: FREE!!!

Location: 1627 Pacific Ave, Dallas, TX 75201

2. Geo-Deck

(Photo via The Scoop)

At 561 ft.high there is absolutely no better view of the Dallas skyline than this one. It's a 360-degree scenic view of the not only Dallas but also several landmarks of neighboring cities such as Las Colinas in Irving Texas, The Dallas Cowboys Stadium, and Six Flags Over Texas. Nat's Tip: Go before sunset, and you will get to see how the city slowly illuminates with the beautiful Texan sunset as the backdrop. Don't forget to e-mail yourself your free photos on the kiosk.

Hands down my favorite museum in Dallas. Went here for a project I had in my Geology class and absolutely loved it. It has 11 permanent exhibits including Lamar Hunt Family Sports Hall, Being Human Hall, Minerals Hall and Expanding Universe Hall. Spend your whole day exploring every exhibit in this place it's worth it. Nat's Tip: The last FLIGHT of stairs before getting to the Sports Hall is musically activated with every step you take.

Cost: Adult $17; Youth under 17 yrs $11

Location: 2201 N. Field Street Dallas, TX 75201

4. Glazed Donut SHOP

The hours for this place are not those of your regular donut shop. Glazed is also far from your regular donut shop it is situated in the heart of Deep Ellum. They sell a variety of Donuts from Vegan Raspberry donuts to Maple Bacon Donuts. Nat's Tip: My Favorite donut is the s'mores donut, so delicious.

Hours: Mon & Tues: Closed; Wed 7AM-12PM; Thurs 7AM-12PM, 8PM-12AM; Fri 7AM-12PM, 10:30PM -2AM; Sat 9AM-1PM, 10:30PM-2AM; Sun 10AM-3PM.

This coffee shop is tiny but one of the cutest in Dallas. It has a minimalistic modern chic style, located in the lobby of the Joule Hotel. They allow their customers to enjoy a various amount of books from Dallas Architecture books to the latest edition of Pucci. Not to mention it is one of the few places in Dallas that makes great Gibraltar coffee. Nat's Tip: Try the Gibraltar which is a double shot of espresso and a bit of milk decorated with coffee art.

Hours: Mon-Sun 6:30AM - 6PM

Cost: $3-$6

Location: 1511 Commerce St Dallas, TX

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
