Creative Writing Vol. 2
University of St.Thomas

This is a continuation of the encouragement of producing creative writing from a few weeks ago. I believe that creative writing is very helpful in the processing of emotions, and also in expressing thought and allowing yourself to write about whatever you please. Therefore, here is the second collection of creative writing that I am releasing.

What is a Soulmate:

It is like a best friend but more.

It’s the one person in the world that knows you better than anyone else.

That someone makes you a better person.

No, actually they don’t

You do that by yourself because they inspire you every day to do better.

A soulmate is someone you carry with you forever.

It’s that person who knew you, accepted you, and believed in you before anyone else.

They believed in you when no one else, or even yourself would.

And no matter what.

You’ll always love them.

And nothing can ever change that.

Sometimes:

You will never know

The true value of a moment

Until it becomes

Just a memory.

She is Beautiful:

She is beautiful, but not like the girls in magazines.

She is beautiful for the way she thinks

She is beautiful for how her eyes sparkled when She talked about something she loved.

She is beautiful for the ability to make others happy when even she was sad.

No she wasn't beautiful for something as temporary as her looks, she is beautiful deep down to her soul.

Open Door

Have you ever looked at someone and thought “I think I could love them?"

They’re just sitting there talking or playing with a fire stick, playing with your dog, watching a movie, laughing or just on their phone.

But there’s just something about them in that moment that just consumes your mind in thoughts.

And you just sit there and look at them and think

“I really do love you.”

And that’s all you want to say, but you just don’t know if you should.

My advice is go for it.

Sometimes life’s an open door,

Sometimes it’s not,

And you’ll be scared to open it.

But you know what you have to do?

Kick that door down.

Self Reflection:

As I tossed and turned in my bed, there is nothing more that I have thought about that you in the past year.

Through struggles of what the Heart wants, and the challenging “what if” situations there is a constant conversation in my head of what to do.

But as opportunity comes closer I hope that the feeling of something different about “this time” is mutual.

Life is too short to spend it with s***y people and have meaningless connections.

There is always one person that has made an impact on your life that you cannot let go of.

Sure people come and go but the people that have proven they are with you thick and thin,

Those are the rare ones.

The ones worth waiting and fighting for,

Those are the ones worth Loving.

Maybe in their life they feel the same but are still figuring themselves out,

And maybe You just know already.

I guess I’ve known for awhile now, but I am sick of the bullshit that is consistent with today's relationships.

The meaningless sex, the cheating and the lies,

I want something worth loving,

Worth waiting for

And worth fighting for.

You have all of that, Kid.

My encouragement to you continues, whenever you have a situation in which you can't say what you feel or think, try writing it out. I guarantee it will help you out, and also help you understand yourself better.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

19 Lessons I'll Never Forget from Growing Up In a Small Town

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
