Going back to college after a long summer break is a beautiful thing. You get to see your friends again, you have something to do all day, and you're away from home.

The best things about going back to college are different at every campus, and especially at North Greenville University.

Here are some things that all NGU students can relate to when heading back to campus:

1. Seeing your friends.

It's strange to say bye to your roommate and then drive two hours in opposite directions for summer. Now, we are all back in the same place.

2. Awaiting what the back-to-school surprises may be.

Hopefully snocones, cause who doesn't love The Nomadik Few?

3. BSU concerts and bonus chapel

Always the best services of the year. AND you get chapel credit for bonus.

4. Football games.

All college football games are fun, but at NGU, it feels like you're at home. No long lines or strangers, and our student section is pretty great.

5. Chapel is back and always better than ever.

Chapel is something everyone typically dreads, but once they get there they love it and worship together.

6. The happy, Christian environment.

No matter if you're going to the caf or to a different dorm, you will see a smiling face and have a door or two held open for you. That's how things are done at NGU.

7. Seeing old professors who always take the time to talk to you.

Most NGU professors are actually interested in you and want to hear about your summer and your life. It's a wonderful feeling to know that math class you flunked last semester wasn't in vain.

8. The beautiful mountains around campus.

This goes without explanation. The mountains are absolutely breathtaking, especially in the fall.

9. Einsteins. Everything at Einstein's.

Chocolate chip bagels with Nutella. Can I get an amen?

10. Downtown Greenville trips.

DTG is so close that everyone goes there at some point during their first week. It's always good to be back.

11. #WeAreNGU

Move-in day: the only good reason you'll probably have this semester to use the NGU hashtag.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:
