It has been a long time since college students worried about witches, goblins and vampires. Here is a list of nine things students would be terrified of if college were just one big haunted house.

1. The Freshman Fifteen

The freshman fifteen is a monster that is alive and real. It will find and catch you if you don't stop making your go-to snack candy corn ASAP.

2. Due-Dates for Online Assignments

You will find nothing more scared or feared than Blackboard submission deadlines. Just thinking about accidentally missing an 11:59 p.m. due date is enough to strike terror into the hearts of college students across America. You may find yourself wanting to double check your Blackboard assignments even now as you read this.

3. 8:30 a.m. Classes

What's that sneaking up behind you? The 8:30 a.m. class you have in three hours? You know you are in college when the sight of the sun rising makes you nauseous with fear.

4. Laundry Day

The washers are gross and the laundry room is just flat-out creepy. However, the biggest horror is trying to get all of your clean clothes back up to your room without wrinkling them.

5. Junk Food

You may not have been the healthiest eater before you came to college, but now that you're here, you can't seem to escape the massive waves of junk food being offered to you from all directions.

6. Failed Exams

This fear is just too real. You are going to have nightmares about looming test deadlines, terrified of the F's and D's that may be waiting just around the corner, waiting to murder your GPA.

7. "Insufficient Funds"

The fear of opening up your bank account and seeing a balance of "0.00" has got you begging your friends and family to send you "treats" this Halloween (cash only please!).

8. Finals Week

One of the deepest, darkest thoughts that haunt your brain; the closer we get to Halloween, the closer we get to finals week. The end of the semester will be here before we know it. Are you ready?

9. The Future

The most horrifying thing of all, however, is picturing the massive void beyond college, known as adulthood. Like finals week, adulthood is a monster that is going to catch up with you before you know it. So enjoy college and all its monsters by going out and having a great Halloweek!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
