The 8 Stages Of Procrastinating
awakeme

Every now and again during the school year, I get hit by one of those... off days. The kind of day where no matter how many lists I make or time-draining websites I block, I just can't seem to make anything happen.

Today has been such a day. What follows is my internal dialogue as I went through the stages of procrastination.

Step One: try (and fail) to do work

Alright, I'm just going to sit down and work. It'll just take a few hours, and then I'll have the whole weekend and... hey, what's this?

*Cue three hours of time spent clicking boxes and me getting way too happy when I have enough wood to build a new hut (if you haven't played "A Dark Room" yet, you're welcome. Also, sorry in advance for the hours of your life that are about to be spent staring at a screen.)

Step Two: try (and fail) to salvage the day

Alright, so that time could have been spent more productively. But that's okay, I've still got time.

*Bleep*

"Hey Rachel! Wanna watch a movie with us?"

"HECK YES I DO. I'LL BRING THE POPCORN."

Such a good movie, though.

Step Three: commit myself completely to the procrastination.

You know what? Screw homework. Let's watch ANOTHER MOVIE!!!!

*Three hours later, fall into a guilty and restless sleep

Step Four: Wake up. Freak out.

WHAT. HAVE. I. DONE.

Step Five: Frantically try to get some really solid work done.

It's totally fine though. This is working out super well!

Step Six: Just turn something in.

Thanks, Shia.

Step Seven: Repent of my sins.

Never again.

Step Eight: Repeat next weekend.

Oh well. I guess this is just the way it is.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:
