Time sure flies. Can you believe Christmas is here already? Every year, we experience all kinds of holidays-- Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving just to name a few popular ones. But Honestly, my favorite is Christmas. No, I don't choose this one because of the presents I get, I choose this one because of the magic that fills the air and our spirits during December.
This magic is only here once a year, on Christmas. Little boys and girls spend most of the fall and winter dreaming about this day. Truthfully, I spend my days dreaming about Christmas as well. I love the days counting up to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The cold air brings a little freshness to my soul and the friendly atmosphere brings a warmth to my heart. People seem to be kinder around this holiday. Giving seems to increase and love seems to be shown more often.
Lights are hung up both inside and out, heartfelt movies are played on every channel on television and upbeat music is pumped out of our speakers from each radio station we tune to. Smiles look brighter and voices sound softer. Our hands our joined together tighter and our hearts are open wider.
I love love. I know it may sound a bit silly to some, but that is my motto. With that being my motto, of course Christmas is my holiday. Love is encouraged and largely given during the most wonderful time of the year.
It brings my heart so much joy to see all the love being spread. That's the most important part of life in my eyes-- to show the world love. God sent me, and you, here to love one another (1 Corinthians 13:13). Unfortunately, we seem to forget that throughout the year. As the year draws to a close, we begin to remember what truly matters.
Christmas is a sweet reminder of the joys we can bring to each other if only we lived every day like it was Christmas. This unique time is a reason Christmas is so special. We get caught up in our day to day lives and let valuable moments slip away. Don't let the great times slip away from you; grab them and hold on as strong as you can.
Enjoy your holidays this December. Spend some extra time with your family, friends and even strangers that need someone to show them that somebody cares. Don't concentrate on how much you're getting but how much you're giving-- and I don't mean monetarily. Time, help, and love is what we should really be giving.
I hope you all have a blessed holiday. Do me a favor, give a little bit of love to every person you see.
Merry Christmas, loves.
