Chinese New Year celebrations or the so-called Lunar New Year are not only celebrated in certain countries. Various countries also enlivened this one big day.

From China to Europe, they also took part in adding to the excitement of the Lunar New Year. Of course in each country will be different ways of celebration. Starting from the fairly ordinary to large-scale parties were carried out. Here are some countries that enliven the Chinese New Year.

1. Singapore

The country which has a Chinatown area is certainly the right place to celebrate Chinese New Year. Full of colours and light.

Chinese New Year celebrations in this country are lively and attract attention. Not only there are various shows and bazaars, but fantastic decorations also fill this one place such as coloured lanterns or decorative decorations.

Of course, this celebration is not only celebrated in one day but made a series of events from a week or two before New Year's Day. The show with ultraviolet light at Garden by the bay made the atmosphere even more fun.

2. Australia

Chinatown in Sydney is a fun place to celebrate Chinese New Year. The participants can reach hundreds of thousands of people.

Various performances and street markets were also held to enliven this day. Even the 12 zodiac lanterns were also present in the corner of the city. Of course, they decorate every new year according to the zodiac in that year.

3. Hong Kong

Various festivals are certainly celebrated in this one country. The new year, which is complemented by a three to five-day holiday together, makes the celebration of Chinese New Year more memorable and lively.

The flower market fills every corner of the city. Various necessities such as flowers, oranges, and also Chinese characters also become decorations in the celebration. Do not forget that at night fireworks are the closing of this special day.

4. United Kingdom

London states that the city celebrates the Chinese New Year celebrations festively in areas outside of Asia. Of course, this is due to the increasing number of people of Chinese descent in this one place. This can be seen from the density of several places such as Chinatown in this city.

Various parades and festivals are also part of the celebrations. Local people were also interested in these festivities so they participated in enlivening the event.

The traditional music events, cultural and artistic exhibitions, dance performances, lantern decorations, and fireworks provide a unique display of a combination of European-style buildings with Chinese colors.

5. Vietnamese

In Vietnam itself, the Chinese calendar is still often used. The timing of the Chinese New Year festival is also not much different from that of China.

In Vietnam itself, the celebration is called Tet day and is included in the national holiday calendar in this country. One of the celebrations is the Zongzi festival, the main food festival in Vietnam.

They also have a tradition called Xong Tet which denotes the good or bad luck of the first guest to come to their house. The personalities and lives of the first guests indicate their luck for the year ahead.

6. Canada

Vancouver and Toronto are lively cities to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Canada. This is because the majority of the population also has Chinese blood.

The festivities of this festival include parades, music concerts, traditional performances, exhibitions, and fireworks displays. Some companies and shops are also closed so that everyone can enliven the event. Lantern decorations also fill the festival crowd.

7. Malaysia

Every commercial area in Malaysia will be decorated with various kinds of Chinese New Year decorations. The presence of red lanterns, cherry blossoms, and various festival atmospheres will be felt throughout the area.

Kuala Lumpur also became the main city to enliven this event. Uniquely, the gifts given in the new year are fruit, this is because fruit is believed to bring good luck to the recipient.
