Spring break is nearing and college students all over the country are debating where they would like to go to catch some sun and get drunk with their friends. Going somewhere deserted and sunny is not the goal, however, as every college student wants to have the "ultimate spring break" experience that so many people see in movies and hear about from friends.

Although it would be nice to travel to St. Croix for a couple of days (and relatively cheap), it would not provide the spring break experience that so many college students are looking for. Here are some possible destinations that college students frequent during their sunny days away from university life.

1. Cancun, Mexico

I have definitely heard great things about Cancun during my time at UVA. Many people go there because it's relatively cheap, but also extremely beautiful and warm. The entire area is swarming with college kids, which essentially means that you are guaranteed to meet new people and have a great time.

2. Ocho Rios, Jamaica

If you're into history, this is the place to go! Why not vacation in the place where Columbus first set foot on western grounds and started his takeover of the western peoples' lands? It really could be an exciting spring break for you! In addition, its beautiful, warm, and culturally diverse, so you could vacation while pushing yourself to learn about other cultures!

3. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

If you're looking to spend a minimal amount of money at some of the most exclusive resorts in the Carribean, I would recommend going to Punta Cana! Especially if you're under 21, since you'd be able to legally drink on this beautiful island.

However, I wouldn't recommend choosing Punta Cana for your vacation if you don't already have a passport, as you will need one and buying one before your break might cost you a bit (especially if you rarely travel outside of the US).

4. Miami, Florida

If you really want to delve into the warm waters, but don't want to leave American soil, consider going to Miami for spring break! It's warm but also not that warm, for those of you who want some sun without the intense heat. Hotels there also aren't super expensive, and if you live close to Miami you can always drive there which will save you a ton of money! This is most definitely the cheapest option out of the five.

5. Nassau, Bahamas

White sands and bright turquoise waters surround this fantastic location, so you can party with your friends surrounded by beauty! Most of the resorts are filled with college students during peak spring break times, so you can definitely enjoy your time partying, while also having the ability to sit on the beach and chill in various areas on the island. It is one of the most frequented spring break destinations, so you better be prepared to see a lot more college students there than in any other spring break location.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
