As a Florida native, I visit Walt Disney World quite frequently. Disney is always magical no matter what season you visit, but there is something even more magical about the springtime. Skies are clear, flowers are in bloom and Florida weather is at the perfect stage before the crazy summer heat waves set in. Annually, Epcot's World Showcase delivers a beautiful array of flowers and topiaries each spring for the Flower and Garden Festival. Every year, the festival offers breathtaking views and different activities.

Here are the top five reasons why you should visit Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival this spring.

1. Topiaries

Disney is top in their class in designing floral masterpieces. Topiaries are shrubs that are crafted into unique shapes. In this case, many of the topiaries resemble Disney original characters from television and movies. This year there a few new topiaries, including Ranger Mickey and his friends, and Minnie Mouse with Pluto. Along with several topiaries, there are also many gardens and exhibits to explore.

2. Delectable Food

Just like Epcot's Food and Wine Festival during the fall, Flower and Garden also offers 13 different outdoor food venues to try. You can locate any of these outdoor kitchens throughout the World Showcase. Some of my favorite foods are frushi from the Japan pavilion, and violet lemonade from the Pineapple Promenade. A great new outdoor kitchen to try this year is Cider House, located in the United Kingdom pavilion.

3. Concerts

Every year, the Garden Rocks Concert Series hosts several classic rock groups. This year you can dance away with artists such as The Guess Who, Gin Blossoms and many more. It's the perfect end to a day filled with extravagant flower sightings and an assortment of food to experience. The concerts are played on weekends during the festival in the America pavilion.

4. Tours

If you want the full Flower and Garden Festival experience, a tour is right up your alley! The Gardens of the World tour takes you backstage and behind the magic to dive into the world of flowers and topiaries. On tour, you will learn about how Epcot creates all of the topiaries in the World Showcase and how they prepare for Flower and Garden. This tour does have an extra price, not including park admission. There is also a complimentary tour offered where you can explore an English tea garden.

5. Future World

When you visit Epcot for Flower and Garden, you also are able to experience the whole park! Not only can you enjoy all of the goodies that come along with the festival, but you can also explore all areas of the park and embark on adventures in Future World. When you need a break from the World Showcase, head over to Future World and travel to space or take a spin on a race track.

Overall, there are so many options to explore while visiting Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival. Travel to World Showcase to see your favorite character topiaries and sample food from around the world. Admire all of the beautiful flowers while visiting the park.
