Bid day: a day full of pictures, glitter, music, more pictures and new friends! It's like a sorority New Year.
You’re waiting for pnm's to get their bid cards and the anticipation is tangible. The countdown begins and you just can't freaking handle it anymore.
They rip open their bid cards and come running to you with their arms wide open!
There’s jumping and screaming (and crying).
You drive them back to their new home with a lettered flag flapping out of your sun roof.
The picture taking starts and never really stops until everyone goes home. You're taking pictures of new girls, with new girls, with the girls in your class, the class above you. Moral of the story, there's no such thing as too many pictures on bid day.
Of course you have to stop between pictures to dance to music spun by a DJ. It doesn't matter how many times you've heard Closer by Chainsmokers, it's still a jam and you still yell all the words.
Did I mention pictures? So, so many pictures.
The new girls get the chance to meet their pledge class and some of the older ladies in the house, too.
Is it really bid day if there isn't a great spread of food? The answer is no. There's anything from an ice cream truck to a hot dog stand. It's like Christmas.
The newbies and actives have left the house, which only reveals how messy the house is. (And how much glitter was spilled).
Before you pass out, you add all the newbies on Facebook and Instagram. It's tedious but you're happy to do it because you're so excited to get to know of all them!
You now have at least 50 new FB friends and followers and the glitter finally came out of your hair (mostly). If that's not a good end to a day, I don't know what is.
Welcome home, babies!
