13 Best Restaurants To Eat At In Bowling Green, Ohio

Whether you are a student at Bowling Green State University, an alumni, a townie, or just passing through, you are guaranteed to get hungry. It's just human nature and those of us here in BG aim to please. There are so many delicious nooks and crannies hidden in the corners of our quaint, little town. Whether you've already eaten here or not, these are some of the best places to dine.

1. Beckett's Burger Bar

All of us college students are on a budget and what better way is there to celebrate Hump Day than with $1 margaritas and 50 cent tacos? Not only do they have great weekly specials, but Beckett's BYOB (build your own burger) menu is delicious. I would also recommend their chicken quesadillas and loaded Bloody Mary's. They were voted the number one pub/tavern in BG for a reason!

2. Easy Street Cafe

The cutest little restaurant on Main Street, Easy Street has the friendliest atmosphere and the best French onion soup. That's not to mention that their onion rings are the size of your head! No, I'm not joking.

3. Jed's Barbecue & Brew

What's a FireBall, you ask? Jed's is known for their legendary, world-famous FireBalls. FireBalls are as fancy and intriguing as they sound! They're loaded boneless wings and they are to die for. They have everything from "Hog Balls" to "Hangover Balls" and their happy hour specials can't be beat.

4. Cookie Jar

Everyone from Bowling Green knows just how scrumptious Cookie Jar cookies are. Nothing beats a cookie of the day and a glass of ice-cold milk. I also hear that the inception cookie is pretty good!

5. Pisanello's Pizza

Pizza never had it so good! Pisanello's has been the best in town since 1964! The Meatzza tastes even better when you sit in the window seat.

6. Grounds for Thought

If you're ever in the mood for a cup of local coffee or a quiet place to study, Grounds is the place for you. They have everything from homemade pastries to rustic books and board games.

7. South Side 6

This is not just your local corner convenience store. While South Side 6 does carry essentials, their take-out menu is superb! Try out a world-famous gyro! You won't regret it.

8. Amish Deli

Arguably home to one of Bowling Green's best sandwiches, the Amish Deli has something for everyone. From daily specials to desserts, this place has all of your foodie needs covered.

9. Eric's Ice Cream Factory

Going into Eric's transforms every college student into a kid in candy store. Their ice cream is made in-house and they have millions of flavors. OK, maybe not millions, but there is something to satisfy every sweet tooth. Not only does Eric's have ice cream, but they also have a variety meals and dinner baskets.

10. Kabob It

Kabob It is your Mediterranean station! They have everything from build your own pitas to combo platters to fresh salads and much more!

11. Black Swamp Pub & Bistro

For all of you on-campus folks, the pub is the place to be. Not only do they accept Falcon Dollars, but their spinach artichoke dip is amazing. That's not to mention that the pub has a killer white cheddar and bacon macaroni and cheese!

12. Campus Pollyeyes

Pollyeyes claims to have the world's best bread sticks and they are definitely right! It might be a heart attack on a plate, but it is so worth it!

13. Corner Grill

Our thoughts go to out to the Corner Grill, who was recently the victim of a fire, but don't let that stop you! They plan on reopening as soon as they can, which means that you'll be eating well in no time! This is one of BG's best hidden gems. They serve anything and everything that you can imagine and it's all relatively inexpensive!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
