"Beditation."
Hear me out.
Meditation isn't for everybody, but stress and sleep insomnia are very real for everybody to some degree. Because of this, we don't get to our optimal levels of productivity for literally every aspect of our daily lives.
Though it's important to pick our brains with everything we did and everything we will do and want to do and hope to achieve. It's also important to recharge our mental and physical batteries so that we can really rack our brains when necessary, so that in high-stress situations, we're not thinking about how tired we are. That being said, being tired makes most situations highly stressful. At the end of the day, getting the most out of your sleep is what helps you get the most out of your day.
So I say, when you begin unwinding and getting ready for bed, let thoughts slowly escape. Check your phone less and less, absorb the sounds of the world, start relaxing your body and mind as you reach a level of comfort where you can safely say that you're ready to pursue only sleep. Then, once you're in bed, find the most comfortable position without struggling to find it too much, and continue letting the thoughts seep out of your head. Know that sleep is a priority, but don't dwell on it and how you need it. Focus on your breaths, in and out; hear the noises of the world from a distance; and suddenly, it takes over your body. Once you wake up, you'll realize that you might have been sleeping wrong this entire time, and you'll have a surplus of energy to use throughout your day. You will also enjoy things more and spread energy amongst others, which is never a bad thing.
Correct sleep is one of the most essential parts of our being. It's that simple.
Beditation.
