Ever since I got my glasses in the third grade, I hated wearing them. I always misplace them, they get dirty often, and they slide down my nose all the time. I also can't wear sunglasses or 3D glasses comfortably. It sucks, but there really are some benefits of wearing glasses. Here are few of them.
1. Protection
I can't tell you how many times my glasses have saved my eyes from random flying objects. When I wore contacts for about a year, eraser shaving were my worst enemy. I enjoy drawing with my face unnaturally close to the paper I'm drawing on, so sometimes the eraser shavings get violent.
2. Smarts
To be honest, I'm not a very smart person. I don't do very well in school, but my glasses help to leave a good impression on my professors. As everyone knows, first impressions are everything. It's gotten me extensions on projects due to teachers expecting me to be a good student. It's amazing and I have my glasses to thank.
3. Fashion
I've gotten a lot of compliments on my glasses before, and everyone likes being complimented. There are so many people out there who buy fake glasses to be fashionable. Us poor sighted people already have a (necessary) accessory to work with. Just make sure to pick out a cool pair.
4. Oblivion
When my glasses are off, I can't see anything. Everything is just a blur of colors, which has it's benefits. Especially when I'm in the shower. Is that a spider on the wall or is it just a smudge? I always choose to view it as a smudge so I can continue my shower in piece.
5. Vision
This is the obvious benefit. With your glasses, you get to see. Isn't it just amazing?
I really used to hate wearing glasses. In fact, I hated wearing them just until recently. They're very comforatable (most of the time) and they're easy yo maintain. Glasses need some more love!
