Hi, my name is Kelley and I'm addicted to music.
Music.
It gets you through all the struggles throughout your life. It can be the soundtrack to those infamous summer nights, or the song only your steering wheel will ever hear you sing.
Now, I know that music is my escape. I can put in my ear buds and everything else just seems to fade away. Any problem I'm faced just drowns away with each song that comes on shuffle.
I swear it's like shuffle knows exactly what you need...
Everybody has their own taste in music. Not one person likes all of the same music; you can bond over a lot of the same artists, but you'll always have that guilty pleasure playlist that your friends will never know that you love. I personally listen to a lot of pop punk. And if you don't know what that means, then you probably don't listen to it. If you do, then you probably listened to it to be angsty in middle school, and now only listen to it every so often. I never really grew out of the angsty teenage years. Ask my friends, they tell me I'm full of teenage angst still. When that All Time Low comes on, I can't help but just close my eyes and take it all in.
Now, All Time Low is the band for me — the band that got me through most of my middle school years. It's like they knew exactly what I needed. They helped me escape what I thought were the worst of times.
Everyone has that band. That band that can do no wrong. Their lyrics covered your Facebook wall, then your Twitter wall, and possibly even your body.
Have you ever had the opportunity to see that band live? I'm just saying, that if you have the opportunity, take it. The first time that I saw All Time Low live, I could not contain myself. I had so many feels that I couldn't stop talking about it for weeks. I'm sure everyone stopped caring and tuned me out, but I didn't care. The minute the band walks on stage and they play those few notes, that you've listened to so many times through your headphones, in full amplification there's nothing like it. I got so lost in my emotions and feels that I was so exhausted after the concert, and it was so worth it.
My goal this school year was to go to as many concerts as I humanly (and financially) could. I saw Timeflies, Fall Out Boy and All Time Low (for the second time). I'm going to Panic! At The Disco and Weezer, and my last concert for a little while is 5 Seconds of Summer.
So, if you take anything away from this article, take away that concerts are some of the best experiences that money can buy. Go see the band. Your band. Go see a band that's not as well known because the ticket is only $15 and you could find your new favorite band. Always go to the openers. The same goes for them, you never know who you're going to discover.
Just go to all the concerts.
Concerts are a beautiful experience of people who share a common interest come together. It can be so beautiful.
Never stop the music. Keep listening to that guilty pleasure, and never let that angst go. It gives all the inspiration you need to do the perfect head bang.
