Who doesn't love a good movie? Better yet a movie involving nothing but classic music montages and always ending positive for the main character. That's where the 80's movies come into play. These movies are the epitome of cheesy, you can see how the movie will end from a mile away and you know what, I'm okay with that.
Normally I watch these movies sparingly, say the girl I'm inevitably going to disappoint later that night wants to watch one, boom I put one on. Joking, joking but honestly, there are a couple of these classic films that I enjoy.
My personal favorite is easily...
"Ferris Bueller's Day Off"
I like everything about it. Ferris is a cool dude that always seems to do the best thing possible; not to mention his girlfriend Sloane is pretty easy on the eyes. Ferris skips school and basically parades around Chicago in victorious fashion the whole time while his principal is doing everything in his power to catch him and suspend him. Oh, and pre-HIV Charlie Sheen makes a cameo appearance as a criminal, how ironic?
"Top Gun"
Top Gun is another one of my 80's favorites. It stars a young Tom Cruise as he goes through special military training in order to earn the title "Top Gun." I'm not going to explain the whole plot line, or ruin it for you, that would just be dumb. What I will tell you about Top Gun is that they play Kenny Loggins hit "Danger Zone" throughout every flight sequence, and "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin in every love scene. Needless to say, these are basically the only two songs played the whole movie. Still, with that being said it's a great 80's movie that I highly recommend.
The movie that really captures the whole aura of 80's movies is probably...
"The Breakfast Club"
Ask your girlfriend about it, chances are she has watched it 10 times. In all honestly, it's not that bad of a movie. "The Breakfast Club" is definitely geared more towards the ladies, but hey who doesn't have a couple girly movies they like? It has all the cliches involved with 80's movies like; a dancing montage, a conflict at the beginning of it, characters working themselves out of a predicament, and a positive ending where everyone is happy. It's a classic!
Remember 1>0, see you when I see you.
