Every woman with curly hair understands the love-hate relationship to a tee. After many years of buying expensive straighteners, shampoos and conditioners, and lots of broken hair-ties later, we eventually have to accept what God gave us and let it shine to the world. But here are a few things that will make all curly haired girls say "that's me."
1. You always run out of conditioner after just a week.
And the expensive kind, too.
2. You have more broken or stretched hair ties than you have ever had new ones.
The war between your curls and those dollar store packs of bands is never-ending.
3. Random people come up and touch your hair ALL the time.
Boundaries are real. But most old women forget that..
4. Bad hair days are so much worse than if you had straight hair.
Girls with straight hair just don't understand the struggle. Their hair gets too flat, our hair gets so crazy it looks like a separate being.
5. People don't understand that you can't brush curly hair.
Dad, I don't care if my hair looks "like a rat's nest". I CANNOT AND WILL NOT BRUSH IT.
6. The underside part of your hair has perfect curls while the rest is a frizz ball.
I just don't understand how the part no one sees is so pretty.
7. No matter how much you embrace the curls, you still end up with split ends.
Not normal split ends though, it's the kind of split ends that look like grandma's old broomstick.
8. Constantly being asked "is your hair naturally curly?"
No ma'am, I chose to have this happen.
9. Humidity is your worst enemy.
Every morning you check your phone to see the humidity level and if it's too high, a pony tail is in your near future.
10. Your drain constantly drains slowly.
It's obviously because you lose like half your hair every time you shower, but you'll blame it on the rest of your family anyways.
11. No matter how much you hate your curls, you know that curly hair is the best hair.
Think about it, most girls have straight hair, so your curls make you unique. Embrace them and all that comes with them, cause everyone wishes they had them.
