Some people travel for the pricey activities or for the nicest hotels, but there are so many more wholesome reasons I want to travel. We are guests on this Earth, and there as so many lessons we have to learn from her.
The Adventure
The idea of something new is enough to get us out of bed in the morning, but imagine an entirely new life, even just for a short while. An entire city, country, or continent that you’ve never seen before, every inch is brand new for you to completely absorb.
The Experience
Being able to rely on your own skills and strengths in a different country is a learning experience in itself. It’s an experience learning foreign travel, customs, and even how different shopping can be. It’s a unique experience you can’t get in your hometown.
To Realize How Big Our World Really Is
Most people who grow up in the United States stay here almost their entire lives. We think everything revolves arounds the US, until we leave. We realize there are completely different cultures, governments, and people who all have lives of their own. It’s hard to comprehend that there are 7 billion people in this world if you keep talking to the same 15.
The Culture
After being in the relatively same place for 20 years we tend to think our way of living is the only way. Traveling allows us to explore other traditions and values. We learn about different foods, different drinks, and what other people do in their free time. Recognizing other cultures is the easiest way to better ourselves through experience.
The Connections
The people you meet over seas, maybe you’re visiting their homeland, or maybe you met a fellow traveler, but you connect with them. People you travel with are often after the same goal of a new view on life or needing a new start. People who you are visiting open their arms and homes to you and you connect on a deeper level than words can provide,
To Put My Problems In Perspective
While traveling the world you meet so many different types of people. You realize how incredibly blessed you are to have this opportunity and realize the petty problems you’re fretting about at home, aren’t worth it.
The Beauty
The United States obviously have some pretty views, but nothing can compare to the castles in Ireland, the sunsets over Paris, or the clear blue lakes in Italy.
