Always Be Yourself, Always

Do you ever doubt all of your abilities?

Always Be Yourself, Always

I'm done apologizing for my presence, and you should be to. It's not fair to your or your body when you accept the fact that you are not good enough when that is such a lie. You are good enough, in fact you are the best. You are the best at you. No, this is no cliche because I am telling you this out of pure sincerity. For all of civilization, we have given ourselves these limits, these barriers that defeat our confidence and overlook our massive potential. Whatever your dream may be, as long as it's safe enough for you to remain healthy and happy, it is not an impossible. Seriously. We dream. If you haven't already been informed, we are our harshest critics and we never consider our real potential. It shouldn't matter what ANYONE else says or thinks because they don't determine your future, you do.

Maybe you are in a rut, stuck in the quick sand of how you believe society views you. There is a way to pull yourself out of it. Even if you think you are in too deep with one bad habit, an undesired lifestyle, or feel underrated by your peers/colleagues, you are able to stand back up and start fresh. It is all in your head my lovelies, therefore your perspective is 100% within your control.

There have been so many instances where everything in life seems too overwhelming to handle for me as I try to juggle school, succeeding within my passionate extracurriculars, and making sure the people around me are all happy. You have to understand that everyone has a maximum point of what they can handle and how far they can push their abilities until they burn out. Everyone is their own unique, beautifully hand-crafted machine, with it's own ever-changing manual as the machine takes on new challenges in life. You will learn the maximum abilities of your own body and mind and that is when you can finally separate what you can add or retain in your lifestyle to improve your character, along with what will make you feel helpless and over-exhausted.

I wish you best of luck on your personal journey in unraveling exactly what you can do to positively enhance your current knowledge and skills, as well as take on appropriately-timed obstacles to help you grow and remain and open-minded, well-balanced life. As life is all that you make of it, and I highly recommend finding the balance between enjoying its beauty and achieving greatness. Thank you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
