Everyone wants to look sun kissed 24/7. However, we all know the horror stories. Tanning beds make you beautiful for a little while, but have huge risks that come along with them. If you’re like me, you don’t like to listen to people telling you not to do something, especially when you are getting some sort of short-term benefit out of it. But, whether you admit it or not, those voices whispering “melanoma” become really loud when the bulbs turn on.
Stage 1: Whatever…
I am a grown woman and also a very pasty woman. I really need to get a quick tan for recruitment and ain’t nobody got time to lie out by the pool every day. Stop telling me how to live my life, MOM!
Stage 2: It can’t be that bad, anyway…
I’m only in there for 20 minutes tops! How much damage could it really do?
Stage 3: I. Look. So freakin’ good.
I am a Goddess, basically. Now I can wear white and neon colors with confidence. There is no way that this magical bed is not a good thing!
Stage 4: But, like, also there’s the whole cancer thing…
Okay, the fan is kind of loud so I can’t be sure but I’m pretty sure I can hear my skin sizzling…
Stage 5: Oh my God, is that a spot? That looks like a spot.
Uhmmm, this could be paranoia but probably not. I have ruined my life, oh God, why?!
Stage 6: Excuse me, ma’am, I need to cancel my membership…
What do you mean I can’t get my money back? I only tanned for two weeks so I should get the other two back! This system is so corrupt.
Stage 7: Yes, I am looking pale these days.
Also, wrinkle, sun spot, and cancer free!
Basically, it’s really just not worth it. Save your money, your peace of mind, and your complexion and listen to Taylor.
