The overall struggle of a new college student is to learn how to cook for themselves, or even live without a home cooked meal for months. These seven simple recipes will soon make your college experience better by offering you some easy meal options. All of the recipes listed below only require a microwave.

1. Mac And Cheese In A Mug

First, the ingredients you will need for instant mac 'n' cheese are 1/2 cup of elbow macaroni, 1/2 cup of your favorite cheeses and 1 cup of water. Microwave on high the mug of noodles and water for eight minutes. Then, while there is still a little bit of water left at the bottom, add in your cheese and microwave for another 30 seconds. Lastly, stir and enjoy!

2. Egg White Bagel Sandwich

The ingredients you will need for this breakfast sandwich recipe are one thin bagel, 10 spinach leaves, 3/4 cup of egg whites, one cream cheese wedge, two slices of tomato, two slices of avocado and kosher salt. To begin, place egg whites, spinach leaves and salt in a bowl and microwave for 90 seconds. Then, spread cream cheese onto the bagel and add tomato and avocado slices on top. Next, gently flip egg onto the sandwich. Season with more salt or hot sauce, if desired.

3. Microwavable Omelet

The ingredients for this recipe depend on how you like to top your microwave omelet. Ham, onions, mushrooms, peppers and cheese are all very common. The only ingredients you'll definitely need are two eggs and one tablespoon of milk. Mix the egg into a mug with milk and place in microwave for two minutes. Lastly, add your favorite ingredients to the top and microwave for 30 more seconds.

4. Spinach and Feta Mashed Potatoes

Two pounds of potatoes, three tablespoons of butter, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 cup of milk, two cups of packed fresh spinach, and two ounces of crumbled feta are needed to make spinach and feta mashed potatoes. First, wash potatoes and place in microwave for five minutes. Next, slice the potatoes into several smaller pieces, and transfer them into a bowl. Add butter, garlic powder, salt and milk. Mash the potatoes until until butter is melted and seasoning is spread out. Then, stir in the spinach leaves. Lastly, crumble feta cheese over the potatoes.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
