The late, the great, Maya Angelou was nothing less than a world changer. She was a woman of many words, but yet each word that left her lips carried with it sincerity and hope. Angelou was an author, poet and civil rights advocate who used her own personal experience and the power of pen and paper to inspire a whole nation and later the world. If I were to list all of Dr. Angelou's powerful and uplifting quotes, the list would seem unending. So here are just a mere seven Angelou quotes to get you through each day this week:

Sunday:

"My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return."

Monday:

"I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass."

Dr. Angelou did a lot with her 86 years of life on earth. She beautifully lived out her own quote from an interview for Beautifully Said magazinein 2012 stating that "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

I believe that our feelings and emotions are a gift and having the ability to cause other people to feel a certain emotion is an even greater gift. To me, Maya Angelou possessed that very gift. She had the ability to make people feel and feel encouraged and powerful.

One day, when I look back on my life I hope that is something I can say about myself. Life is hard enough trying to muddle through it alone. Why not spend your time and efforts growing and helping others grow and conquer life as well?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was).
