5 Things Oxford Desperately Needs

Oxford, Mississippi is arguably the best college town out there. From the old Southern charm of the square, to the blessings that is gas station barbecue, it is nearly perfect. I say nearly because Oxford, while being amazing place, is missing a few key things...

1.Target

Duh! This is a big one. Some people argue that Wal-Mart does the trick, but I heavily disagree. Target is the holy grail of all shopping... grocery, clothes, movies, it has it all. I miss being able to go into a target and find every single thing I could ever need, want, or desire under one roof. Not to mention that inside most Targets are a Pizza Hut and a Starbucks! I think all Oxford residents should petition to get a Target... even though my bank account disagrees.

2. Hobby Lobby or Michael's

With all the sorority girls in Oxford, how we don't have an art supply store is beyond me. Big-Little week would be so much easier if we didn't have to drive to a different state to get what we need in order to spoil our Littles. If that isn't enough of a reason the holidays definitely are. If you have walked in a Michael's or Hobby Lobby, you know Christmas is a year long event, and what could be better?

3.Chipotle

Ah, Chipoltle, how we all miss you when we come to Oxford. A Chipotle would be the perfect addition to Oxford's already great food selection. Think of how great it would be to hit up Chipotle on a Sunday afternoon! And yes, we know the guacamole is extra.

4. Sephora

This one is a necessity. While I love Wal-Mart's cosmetic selection and their prices, sometimes a girl just needs a little makeup retail therapy, and Sephora is the perfect place for that. Not only does Sephora have an amazing selection of makeup, skincare, and hair care, but they also have a makeup studio where Sephora professionals will do your makeup for you—perfect for formal!

5.Dave and Buster's

Come on... this one would be so fun. While everyone in Oxford loves a good weekend party, it would be awesome to be able to switch things up every once and a while, and Dave and Buster's would be the perfect place for that. Imagine having a swap at Dave and Buster's... Needless to say it would definitely be one for the books!

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:
