The 5 Things Your Old AIM Screen Name Says About You

Most of us have left our old Abercrombie and Fitch-wearing-selves behind, yet there's one thing that will continuously define our pre-teen years with just a few adjectives and numbers.

The 5 Things Your Old AIM Screen Name Says About You

Sure, it's fun to look back at your old Facebook pictures from the beginning of high school or check up on your old statuses, but nothing is better than the ultimate #throwbackthursday, your old AIM screen names. These screen names took days to come up with at lunch with your friends, and if you were really desperate you'd try to use an online generator to produce the ultimate screen name that everyone would be jealous of. Did you want people to know you were on the school soccer team, or that you loved the color pink? What about your favorite animal or the nickname you secretly wanted everyone to call you? These are just a few of the hard-hitting questions that came to mind when choosing the perfect name. So, what did your screen name actually say about you?

1. The Animal Lover.

There was always that token girl in your classes in grade school that loved horses or some other farm animal. You knew, your teacher knew, and anyone who saw her knew. Being the animal lover in school resulted in just that when making a screen name. Did you spell lover with a U or with no E? It was hard to choose.

2. The Athlete.

What sport did you love at the time? You put it in your screen name. Whether it's soccer or thinking your going to be the next professional raquet ball player (this may have been me in the fourth grade) you had to let everyone know in your screen name.

3. The Punk.

Did you listen to Simple Plan or Good Charlotte? Chances are your screen name had an exaggerated amount of x's in it and your bio involved a pink and black color scheme. You didn't need to put your friends initials on your page because you wanted people to know you were way too cool for that.

4. The Sweet and Flirty Girl.

There were always the girls whose main reason to get a screen name was to easily get the attention of everyone in class. What's better than getting your message across with an adjective to go with your name, like "cute Claire" or "sassy Samantha?" This screen name meant that you were putting your best foot forward to meet new people through the

5. The Surprise Obsession.

The last category of screen names is one you didn't find very often in the AIM world, one that came up on your buddy list and you had to remind yourself of who it was because you would have no idea by just looking at it. This was the "surprise" screen name that told each person who saw it a secret about the person that you would have never known existed before hand. These were the best kind of names because they were definitely the most memorable and you couldn't wait until they changed their away message.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods.
