1. You owe to yourself.
To make a relationship work it takes two, we all know that; however, when a relationship ends the only person that solely matters is you. Your safety, your sanity, and your emotional well-being. Often hanging onto something that isn't there after a break up interferes significantly with your well-being and you deserve to walk away feeling stronger. Regardless of how wonderful or how awful the relationship is, you will always deserve the best and when you let go, you'll realize it.
2. There are better things out there for you.
Have you ever heard of the saying "once one door closes, another one opens?" A break up is a perfect example of this saying because although the pain is initially unbearable it opens up doors to countless opportunities. After accepting the fact that the relationship has ended, you can allow yourself to discover things you may not have while in the relationship. Once you let go, you can begin to embrace all the adventures and experiences life will throw your way.
3. You can allow yourself to learn from it.
With every relationship comes learning and growth, but once a break up happens you can take all the knowledge you've gathered and you can apply those learning experiences in your future relationships. When a relationship fails, it teaches you what to do and what not to do in the future to allow for a more successful relationship.
4. You deserve to be valued.
Relationships end for a reason, whatever the reason they may be you always deserve to be valued. Often relationships end because there is a lack of communication, or trust issues or betrayal, or even a lack of value shown between one another. So, if a relationship is failing for any of those reasons just keep telling yourself that you deserve someone who values you for everything you're worth. And you're worth so much more than one relationship that wasn't the right one for you.
5. Make yourself a priority.
A major reason why relationships often don't work is because someone isn't ready. It's said that we can't be in a relationship until we are happy with ourselves. If you are struggling with a heartbreak, take it as an opportunity to better yourself. The only person you have to worry about right now is you, and the opportunities to better yourself are endless. You deserve to pamper yourself and make yourself someone you love because, in the end, that's all that matters.
