1. I hate that there are so much more struggles to face as I grow older.
College applications, homework, a job and any extra curriculars are pretty much all you do in your senior year of high school. All that hard work for three years can't be for nothing, you need this diploma!
I hate that time flies. I remember when I was in my 8th grade health class, my teacher told the class on the first day of school, “As you get older, time goes by quicker.” I hate that we're all growing up, dreams are getting bigger, chances are getting smaller, hopes are getting higher, and stress levels are get higher.
2. I look older, I feel older, but I'm not.
It's not fun when friends ask to go out to a bar with you, but you can't even get in a bar! A more mature outlook on life attracts more mature people who happen to be older. I often have a hard time getting along with people that are my age because I am so used to being around older people. It's difficult to adjust to such an immature atmosphere such as high school.
3. You can't relive the sins of your youth
A lot of adults say that they did a lot of stuff when they were young and they all have fond memories. Today we don't have time for fooling around because all teenagers are concerned about is getting into college. They would give anything to be young again, but you would give anything to get rid of the bad acne, get a good shower in your schedule, and get rid of those dark circles under your eyes!
4. Balancing money
It's hard to manage a job, school and any other activities after school but you still want to keep a payroll rather than live off of your summer job for the next 9 months you're in school. An easy way to somewhat manage to still get money is to get an online job!
5. It’s all the same routine
Get up at 5 a.m. to catch the bus while standing in the freezing cold at 6:30, be in class by 7:20 while having vicious hall monitors and school officials scream at students to get to class. Get out at 2 p.m. but you might have to stay late to make up that test, or to get extra help, or because you’re committed to a club. I know this all too well, and even I don’t know how I got through it.
