Brunch is never a bad idea, it's the best of both meals combined. It is the perfect food combination that satisfies everyone's cravings. Here is a list of brunch places in Gainesville that you need to visit.

1. Civilization


This place serves fresh and delicious food with a laid-back atmosphere. It aims to serve local and organic food whenever it can, and provides unique twists to classic breakfast favorites. The lemon ricotta beignets come close to Cafe Du Monde's world famous beignets in New Orleans. It is cash only, but there is a nearby ATM!

2. East End Eatery

This uniquely decorated restaurant makes you feel right at home, especially with the Sunday Brunch Specials - a must! The service is amazing, as all the employees greet you while you wait. The backyard seating is perfect to enjoy the weather and pets are welcome! Try the smoked gouda grits as a side and you won't be disappointed. It is cash only as well, but there is a nearby ATM!

3. The Flying Biscuit Cafe

The southern-inspired menu makes it the best place to go for comfort food. Its' soft, fluffy biscuits, paired with their apple butter serves up a whole new meaning to fall. You can make reservations so you won't have to wait too long. It's also open until 4 p.m. on weekends for those who like to sleep in!

4. Maple Street Biscuit Company

This newly opened restaurant provides a quick and efficient way to get your break(fast) by ordering before you are seated. With 17 different specialty buttermilk biscuit options, it provides a modern twist to your comfort food. The "Five and Dime" (pictured above) has fried chicken breast, pecan-wood smoked bacon and cheddar cheese topped with sausage gravy and a fried egg. It is a customer favorite.

5. Metro Diner

This diner was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" and Guy Fieri approved. Metro has all the breakfast and lunch options that you crave. It is open until 8 p.m. on most days so you can always have breakfast for dinner! Try their breakfast burrito!
