These days, everyone doesn't have any motivation to do anything and end up spending time on their phones instead of doing homework or anything productive. Honestly, I feel the same way. There's really nothing much I can do to motivate myself; I get distracted easily. One minute I'm carefully calculating the angle of a triangle using the Law of Sines, and another minute I'm on Youtube watching a video on how to make your crush like you back. This is really a list of thoughts that would motivate you to try, at least for a while until you calm down.
1. Friends
At this age, parents don't really motivate you much; the only people that would come close to making you do things are your friends. They encourage you to do things you wouldn't do by yourself and give you unbiased advice for you to make decisions. Plus, the good ones are willing to do anything to get to onto the right path. Not only are they good motivators, but also venting buddies that you can complain about. You don't have to hold in all that stress anymore.
2. The need to get a better grade than your friends
Competition is essential. It's the only way you are pumped to get a 120 on your next test because you have to be the best and be smarter than everyone. Maybe this will get you to study. For example, I would also start a competition for almost anything with my friends because it makes me more productive, though not very accurate. Obviously, not all of you are going to get in the same dream school, so you might as well be the smarter one to increase your chances. Ouch, that was mean, but surely it would motivate you, maybe?
3. Stress
In the middle of the night, you suddenly wake up, adrenaline rushing through tour body, because you forgot to read 200 pages of your book that is due tomorrow. Stress is a really powerful tool to push you to your limits (which isn't very good). However, you can prevent stress by doing what? Your work. Completing all your assignments equals no stress, which means you won't randomly wake up in the middle of your dream to read your book. The need to sleep a decent amount of time increases your productivity level last minute and hopefully motivates you to get your work done.
4. The Due Date
No one would do an assignment unless it has a due date or that person has no social life. Seriously, give a person two months to do a project and most would put something together the period before. This type of motivation is last resort, because in less than an hour the assignment is due and the project will be extremely rushed. Good luck finding motivation in your life.
