25 People Having a Worse Day Than You

It’s one of those days when the day isn’t going your way. You feel down on your luck, and it won’t go away. If you’ve made this far through the article, congrats, I promise the rest of it won’t rhyme like a Dr. Seuss book.  Anyhow, you’re down on yourself and you feel like the world and all its inhabitants hate you but seriously don’t worry because I guarantee that the people on this list are having a way worse day than you.

If your problem happens named on this list… just focus on all the others, you’ll feel better about yourself (in no particular order because these are all truly unfortunate events):

1. Anyone who went out last night and is now walking to or from 52A Himes Hall (presumably to fail a test seaux hard).

2. The guy who thought he could fit in by wearing every single piece of Polo (or any other brand) clothing today and is strolling through the quad. #allnamebranderrrthang

3. The girl in the union who has a hickey on her neck and hasn’t realized it yet.

4. The girl who’s realized that the guy she’s been going home with every Thursday night has just gone FBO with a completely random girl he always said he was "just friends" with.

5. The guy whom all (fill in any number) of girls he’s been sleeping with simultaneously have figured out he’s been sleeping with them simultaneously.

6. The person who doesn’t have enough paw points to buy Chick-fil-a.

7. The girl who finished a classic series on Netflix today and feels like her life’s over.

8. The guy who threw up on himself last night, and now it’s all over Snapchat.

9. Anyone who lost their wallet.

10. The girl who lost her phone in Tigerland for the umpteenth time and doesn’t know how to tell her parents.

11. The girl who’s fighting with all of her friends.

12. The girl who’s been set up for her date function with a guy who hasn’t texted her back once. The date party is in two days.     13. Anyone who decided sending nudes over Snapchat was a good idea.

14. The girl who's being discussed in a fraternity GroupMe as a "groupie."

15. The guy who takes pledgeship too seriously.

16. The person who has to pull an all-nighter tonight.

17. The guy who has no more t-shirts because the "bae" took them all.

18. The out-of-towner who has no idea what real Mardi Gras is like.

19. The guy who went to a sorority function, took care of his date all night, but didn’t get a shirt from the event and is now looking around and seeing everyone wearing the shirt because they were delivered yesterday.

20. The girl who feels so insecure about whether or not the boy she’s hooking up with is only hooking up with her that she targets any other possible mate he might have and makes her feel uncomfortable.

21. The girl who’s being targeted because she said hi to him once.

22. The person who left their apartment without a phone charger.

23. The person who left their apartment today with two different shoes on.

24. The person who woke up today and didn’t know where they were.

25. The person who woke up today, knew exactly where they were, and wished they didn't.

See! Your day could a lot worse and a lot more drama packed! Today is just a day and so was yesterday and tomorrow will be too. Just roll with the punches and then go hide in your bed and watch Netflix, maybe let a tear roll if need be. Tomorrow will be better!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
