The 5 Places You'll Want To Go For Spring Break

The second semester blues tend to hit college students pretty hard, and the only solution is a mid-semester getaway to a hot spring break destination. The "it" spot for spring break seems to change year after year, so it can be hard for students to decide where they're going to venture to. The most important things to keep in mind when searching for the ultimate spring break destination are the price and atmosphere. Whether you are into the "typical" college spring break—aka beer bongs and beaches—or a more relaxing getaway, the list I've compiled below of spring break destinations will be sure to fit your needs.

1. South Padre Island, Texas

South Padre is the "it" spot this year for spring break, and you will definitely get that "typical" college spring break experience there. South Padre offers 34 miles of natural seashore to explore during the day and plenty of clubs and bars to explore at night. There are plenty of deals out there for college students, so you can grab a big group of friends and plan out your vacation for cheap prices.

2. Los Cabos, Mexico

When college students think about trips to Mexico, they generally flock to Cancun. However, Cabo is the perfect spot for spring break with its gorgeous views and lively bar scene. Let's not forget that this is Mexico, and the drinking age is 18 so of course that's a plus!

3. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is the perfect getaway to provide you with relaxation and serenity. With over 60 miles of beachfront on the Atlantic Ocean, you will have no problem finding a spot to set up camp for the week and take in the amazing views. Myrtle Beach also offers a waterpark, fishing charters, the famous "sky wheel," scuba diving, and much more.

4. Aspen, Colorado

Aspen provides an alternative to the tropical spring break vacation by taking you to the snowy mountains. Whether you're into skiing, snowboarding, or just relaxing by the fire with a warm cup of hot cocoa, Aspen is the perfect getaway.

5. Inception At Sea Cruise

This cruise sets out of Miami, Florida and is the first ever fully-charted spring break cruise. There are all-inclusive accommodations available that would offer you open bar throughout the whole ship, plenty of restaurants to choose from, and on-shore events in the Bahamas. The cruise will also be offering a full lineup of performers for live concerts including The Chainsmokers, Tyga, Bassjackers, and many more.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
