19 Thoughts You'll Have As A Transfer At Texas A&M

First of all, if you're reading this and you're transferring to A&M, let me congratulate you and say that you just made the best decision of your life! This school will bring you so much happiness and so many opportunities.

I transferred to Texas A&M as a junior this past year and it was the most challenging, the most rewarding, and the most fun year of my life yet. The immense pride I felt when I became an Aggie is a feeling that will never dull and I can't wait for you to experience it for yourself!

There were many feelings, thoughts, and concerns I had right before I began school and during my first week at A&M and I'm going to share a few of them with you right now!

1. "I'M GONNA BE AN AGGIE!!!!!!"

2. "Did all of my credits transfer?"

3. "Wait there's a west campus AND a main campus?"

4. "When can I order my Aggie ring?"

5. "I NEED ALL OF THE T-SHIRTS!"

6. "My Fitbit is loving me right now, step count game on point y'all!!!!"

7. "Bruh, I'm not a freshman."

8. "But I somehow feel like a freshman all over again..."

9. "Uh, I don't know where anything is."

10. "I should just have a sign around my neck that says where I transferred from and why."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
