18 Things You'll Only Understand If You're Short

Ever have to ask someone for help getting an item on the top shelf at the grocery store? Do you often have to stand on a chair to put all your dishes away? Don't worry, I understand! As a short person living in a very tall world, sometimes life gets a little tough. Here are a few things that you'll completely understand if, like me, you're vertically challenged!

1. You can't reach something because it's too high

2. You feel like no one takes you seriously

3. You always have to jog to keep up when walking with tall people

4. You can never talk directly to anyone's face

5. You know exactly what Nicole Richie is talking about

6. Every tall person thinks it's fun to put their elbow on your shoulder...or head.

7. Everyone wants to pick you up

8. Your feet never touch the ground when you sit down

9. Always having to hem your pants, or roll them up

10. People always asking you, "How short ARE you?"

11. Tall people bending down to see what it looks like from your height

12. Always having to stand in the front of group photos

13. The struggles of cropping photos with tall friends

14. Always having to stand on your tip-toes to hug or kiss you significant other

15. Almost being blown away by big gusts of wind

16. Always being called "cute" and "petite"

17. Always having to sit in the middle seat

18. Tall people asking where you are because they're literally looking right above your head

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.
