Spring semester of sophomore year means one thing to Penn State nursing students: clinicals. They are at 6:30 a.m.; they are at a nursing home, and they are so much different than a classroom.
1. "It can't be 5:30 a.m. yet..."
Yep, it is. Time to get up.
2. "Holy crap, it's only been an hour?"
One down, five to go.
3. "Holy crap, it's already been an hour??"
All I've done is brush his teeth and get one arm in his shirt! How did it take that long?
4. "Holy crap..."
I'm going to need some more wipes.
5. "My feet hurt."
I don't remember what it feels like to sit down.
6. "What is that smell?"
More importantly, where is it coming from?
7. "HIPAA, HIPAA, HIPAA!"
8. "Wash hands, must wash hands."
I don't know what's on them, and I don't think I want to.
9. "Is that normal?"
10. "Must...keep...straight...face."
11. "I can't feel my feet."
12. "So that's where my headphones went..."
So many pockets.
13. "Don't stab yourself. Please don't stab yourself..."
14. "This is so worth it."
I am going to be one kick-ass nurse.
